NFL Network and Comcast kick off Keep Gym in School 2010 with the Denver Broncos
Kepner Middle School
Denver, Colorado

Year three of Keep Gym in School is off to great start after the first exciting pep rally and minicamp event in Denver. In partnership with Comcast and the Denver Broncos, NFL Network adopted Kepner Middle School and donated $25,000 in refurbishments and new equipment. The grant money provided the necessary funding for physical education enhancements including state-of-the-art indoor climbing walls as well as new football and physical education equipment.

NFL RedZone Host Scott Hanson and Denver Broncos’ Safety Brian Dawkins led the pep rally and minicamp that also featured dignitaries including Comcast Mile High Region SVP Scott Binder, Denver Public School Superintendent Tom Boasberg and Colorado Commissioner of Education Dwight D. Jones. The auditorium rocked with performances by the Kepner 8th grade band, Lincoln High School Lancers cheerleaders and Montbello HS Drumline. In an exciting special addition, the pep rally also included a representative from the Stadium Stampede, members of the Broncos Cheerleaders, and Denver Broncos mascot, Miles.

Brian then took students onto the football field, leading a full stretch before rotating through the seven fitness stations including the vertical leap, 40 yard dash and football drills. Comcast, the Denver Broncos and Brian Dawkins were happy to join with NFL Network’s Keep Gym in School to get students excited about a lifetime of fitness.

Congratulations Kepner!

Please contact your Senators and ask them to co-sponsor this important bill. [Take action] Use NASPE's new “PE is an Academic Subject” paper in your advocacy!
